Victor Type Writer
1889
Manufactured by the Tilton Manufacturing Company of Boston, the
Victor printed from a daisy wheel and has been credited with being the
first typewriter to use this design. Character selection was performed
by guiding a finger cup over the character index at the front of the machine.
Inking was from an ink pad and a small hammer would force the type into
the paper when a lever at the left was depressed. The Victor's gold painted
decorations make it quite an attractive typewriter. .
